THE NATIONAL COLLEGE MOUNTAINEERING ASSOCIATION

The National College Mountaineering Club called Arohi was started by the college in 1984 to promote adventurous activities such as trekking, rock climbing, mountaineering,  snowskiing etc. for the students of the college. The activities are conducted under the guidance of a staff-member.

Arohi is recognised by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi: District Youth Service and Sports Board, Government of Karnataka; General K.S. Thimmayya National Academy of Adventure, Government of Karnataka; and Spark, Bangalore.

INTER-SECTOIN CONTESTS

1. INTER-SECTION DRAMA CONTEST

In order to encourage histrionic talents among the students, the college has been conducting Inter-Section Drama Contest every year since 1962. Separate prizes and Rolling Shields are awarded to  the Pre-University and Degrees Classes. Shields and Cups have been instituted by the college.

2. INTER-SECTION MUSIC COMPETITION

The college has been conducting Inter-Section Music Contest in classical and light music since 1965. Prizes are awarded to the winners. Music Workshop will be held every year by famous musicians to train our students.

3. INTER-SECTION KANNAD, ENGLISH, HINDI AND SANSRIT DEBATES

With a view to give a n opportunity to students so as to develop their faculty of public speadkin, the college has been conducting Inter Section Debate Contest in English, Kannada, Sanskrit & Hindi. Prizes are awarded to winners.

4. INTER-SECTION SCIENCE SPEAKING CONTESTS WILL BE HELD IN PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, MATHEMATICS, PSYCHOLOGY, ELECTRONICS COMP.SCIENCE AND COMMERCE

Speaking contests are held every year for encouraging all the students to develop interest in Science & Technological Progress & presentation skills Prizes are awarded to the winners.

KUM. VANITA MEMORIAL INTER-COLLEGIATE STATE LEVEL DEBATE

Kum. Vanita Memorial State level Inter-Collegiate Debate in Kannada is being conducted during the month of October every year. Debate is conducted separately for PUC and Degree students.
