ABOUT OUR COLLEGE

The National College Basavanagudi established in 1945, for commemorating the Silver Jubilee of the National High School, founded in 1917, is one of the premier institutions in the State of Karnataka. It is one of the 17 institutions run by The National Education Society of Karnataka (1917), Bangalore. Since its inception, the college has grown by leaps and bounds. It has become a synonym for “Value based higher education”. The college celebrated its Golden Jubilee during 1995-1996. Manifesting the true script of Nationality, The National Education Society of Karnataka (Regd.). Which is spearheaded by people of ‘Vision’ with a rare sense of commitment to National building, in its existence of well over six decades, has contributed to all-round development of the society. It is a matter of pride that many of the alumni are people of eminence known not only all over the country but also at abroad. The college has not made them just ‘professionals’ but people with integrity. Besides curriculum, the college with its consistent encouragement to extracurricular activities, has produced administrators (I.A.S., I.P.S.), Scientists, Scholars, Theatre and Cine Artists, Sports personalities of national and international frame. The college premises has been hallowed by the visits of great leaders including Mahatma Gandhi, is endeavouring  to promote the ideals of secularism, humanism and scientific spirit enshrined in the tradition and constitution of The National Education Society of Karnataka. No wonder, the National College Basavanagudi. Is one of the most sought after colleges in the State.
